Quite often, the personal computer does not display the hard drive. Of course, this problem interferes with normal performance, but even it can be solved.
HDD
The hard drive is one of the most important components of a personal computer. It is on it that all user information is stored. Unfortunately, the user may be faced with the fact that the computer simply does not see the hard drive. This nuisance is quite common, and there is a solution for it. The first step is to understand why the computer does not display the hard drive, and only then look for a way to solve the pressing problem.
Hard drive problems and solutions
The problem may lie, for example, in a conflict between the hard drive itself and the motherboard. To solve this problem, you need to insert the CD with drivers from the HDD and install them.
In addition, the problem may lie in the BIOS. In order to understand whether this is really so, you need to go into the BIOS itself and find the AHCI parameter (the Configure SATA As item). Disable this setting and restart your computer. If this really was the problem, then the hard drive will be detected.
If the problem persists, then you can use another method. First you need to check the disk itself. You need to go to the "Start" menu and right-click on the "Computer" item. A special menu will appear where "Control" is selected. It should be noted that starting control is possible only with administrator rights or their confirmation. The "Computer Management" window will open, where you need to find the "Disk Management" item. After clicking, information about the computer disks (local and hard drives in general) should appear. You need to find exactly the local disk that is not displayed and click on it with the right mouse button. In the menu that appears, select the "Change drive letter or drive path" category. A specific letter is selected and the action is confirmed. Usually, these simple steps are enough for the computer to see the hard drive.
The problem may also be that not all cables can be connected to the hard drive. To do this, you need to disassemble the system unit and check if this is really so. If all the cables are connected, then you need to look at the wires themselves, they may be damaged. If everything is in order here, then, most likely, the problem lies in the disk itself and you need to look for its replacement. Just in case, so as not to waste unnecessary funds, you can ask your friends and connect it to a PC. If the computer sees it, you will have to buy a new one.
