Using the Quick Launch in the Windows XP operating system can improve the performance of the Windows XP operating system. With many open windows, opening a program or its shortcut from the desktop looks very difficult. Imagine that you are using several windows of programs, and you need a shortcut on the desktop or in a specific folder. You will spend time searching and launching this shortcut, but when placing the same shortcut in the quick launch panel, your work on finding the shortcut will be minimized - just click on the program shortcut.

Necessary

Windows XP operating system, quick launch bar, program shortcuts

Instructions

Step 1

The quick launch bar has pluses and no minuses, the so-called win-win option. All shortcuts placed on this panel are launched with a single click on the mouse button. In addition, this panel is always on top of other windows and can be automatically minimized. If you do not know what it is, then the panel located at the very bottom of the screen (with the "Start" button) is the taskbar. And the shortcuts of the programs that are located on this panel are located on the desired quick launch panel.

Step 2

If you do not see this panel, then it is not activated yet. To display this panel, right-click on the taskbar and select Properties from the context menu that opens. You will see the "Properties of the taskbar" window. In this window, check the box next to "Show Quick Launch Toolbar". To automatically hide the taskbar, it makes sense to activate the "Automatically hide the taskbar" item. Temporary absence of this panel saves additional free space when viewing graphics. To save all changes, click the "Apply" button and then the "OK" button.

Step 3

To add a shortcut to the quick launch panel, hold down the desired shortcut or program launch file on the desktop with the left mouse button and drag it to the taskbar. As soon as the vertical line appears, release the left mouse button. Your shortcut should appear on the Quick Launch bar.

Step 4

If you don't see a shortcut in this panel, it most likely ended up in hidden shortcuts. To find it, click on the arrow icon on the quick launch bar, in the drop-down list you can find the shortcut you are looking for.
