Surely, from time to time you have come across the desire to combine different photos that have nothing in common into one image - this may be caused by the desire to create a beautiful photo collage, an advertising banner, an unusual graphic element for the visual design of a web page, and so on. Combining two photos in one image will also allow you to create friendly cards, form unusual landscapes, and open up new possibilities in photomontage.

Instructions

Step 1

Open two photos in Photoshop that you will use to make your first collage. Two different windows will appear in the program window, each of which will have its own photo. Click on any window with one of the photos and select the Dulpicate layer option in the layers palette to duplicate the main layer.

Step 2

Then go to the second photo and copy it to a new layer of the first photo so that both images appear in the same window. Now select the Move Tool and place the photos on the same level, moving them relative to each other.

Step 3

Partially overlay the photos on top of each other, so that you can further combine them into a single image. Select the top layer and click on the Add Layer Mask option to add a layer mask. Then select the Gradient tool from the Toolbox and set the Linear Gradient parameters to Normal mode, with a transition from the color you want to transparency.

Step 4

Go to the top layer and click on the top edge of the photo. Hold Shift and draw a horizontal line from the extreme corner of the top picture to the place where the side edge of the bottom picture ends.

Step 5

You will see how part of the image is erased, and you have a smooth transition from one photo to another. For a sharper transition, make a shorter gradient line. Carefully blend the image and merge the layers.
