Scanning allows you to obtain a digital image from a paper document, photograph, or page of a book, which can be sent by e-mail, posted on the network, or set aside for storage.
Instructions
Step 1
The scanning process begins with connecting the scanner to your computer and installing the required driver. If your scanner does not come with the CD containing the device drivers, you can always download the correct driver from the manufacturer's website.
Step 2
Once the scanner is connected and Windows has recognized it properly, you can start scanning. To do this, place your photo on the scanner glass and close the lid.
Step 3
Click Start - All Programs - Fax and Scan or Start - Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Scan a Document or Picture. For the convenience of subsequent access to the application, place its shortcut on the desktop.
Step 4
Click the New Scan button and select the destination file type in the dialog box, the maximum resolution for best results and click the Preview button.
Step 5
A working area of scanning will appear in the preview window, which must be reduced to the size of the photo using the selection handles, and then click the "Scan" button.
Step 6
As a result, you will receive a digital photo that should be saved in any convenient place by clicking the "Save As" button.
