The darkening effect on the edges of photos is used quite often. It allows you to draw attention to the main subjects in a photo or to give a photo more personality. The most widely used graphic editing program from Adobe has now added a new filter, Lens Correction. The use of this filter is essential for correcting photography problems caused by the camera lens. This can be negative distortion, vignetting, etc. Although the application of this effect is weak, it nevertheless has a strong effect on the image.

Instructions

Step 1

Make a copy of the layer. To do this, do the following: in the top menu, select Layer (Layer) and select New (New). Then click "Copy to a new layer" (Layer via Copy). In the panel, you will see a copy of the layer. It should be above the back layer.

Step 2

Open the Lens Correction filter. Now you need to select the created copy of the layer (by default it is named "Layer 1"). Select Filtr from the top menu. Now you need to select Distort (Distortion). And then select Lens Correction. To continue working, you need several functions, which are located in a new window.

Step 3

You must turn off the grid. Show Grid is located at the bottom of the window. Uncheck the box opposite this label.

Step 4

You need to drag the Effect slider from Vignette. This needs to be done for more anti-aliasing. Almost all the functions that are available in "Lens Correction" "are located on the right side of the window. If you look closely, you can see that they are divided into groups. In this window, we only need two options. They are located in the Vignette group. These options are essential to remove problems when using camera lenses. But with the help of them, you can smooth out a certain amount of detail in the photo. Let's consider them in more detail: Option Amount (Effect) - determines the degree of anti-aliasing. By dragging the slider to the left, you blur the edges of the photo.

Step 5

The midpoint needs to be aligned. Below the Effect option is the Midpoint option. It determines how far the darkening effect extends from the center of the image. Drag the slider to the right or left to smooth only the edge or vice versa of the center of the photo.

Step 6

If you are satisfied with the result, then click OK to save the changes.

Step 7

Add an effect. To do this, you need to set the opacity of the layer. If you think that the photo is very blurry, then you can lower the opacity of the layer.
