Step 1
To complete the task, you will need three components: video material, subtitles in a separate file, and a program that can play and switch text translation to video. Suppose you have recorded the movie itself. Find subtitles for it if you don't already have one. When choosing a translation, pay attention to the timing of the video for which the subtitles were made, it should match yours. Otherwise, the text on the screen will appear out of place. Download the file that suits you and save it in the same folder as the movie.
Step 2
Subtitles are usually in *.ass or *.srt file format. They are time-stamped text. Most player software can use both types of files. Rename the files so that their names are the same. Often this is where the procedure for connecting external subtitles ends - when you start a video, they open automatically. If this does not happen, you need to configure the player or install codecs.
Step 3
Launch your browser again. Go to the download page for the free KMPlayer. Media Player Classic or GomPlayer is also suitable. Download the installation package and double-click to start the installation. Answer the questions of the master and do not forget to indicate the Russian language for the program. Automatically all types of video content will be linked to this application. This can be changed if desired.
Step 4
Start the movie. If subtitles do not appear on the screen, or if you want to use only external translation and disable the built-in ones, right-click on the image and select the "Subtitles" menu, and in it the "Subtitle languages" submenu. Left-click on the line with the desired language or translation option, and it will appear on the screen.
