A video sequence or individual images that, when viewed, create a three-dimensional effect, are called stereo images. Viewing stereo images without special tools can be a good eye training.

Instructions

Step 1

A stereo image can be created using the double photography method. Two pictures of the object are taken with the lens shifted at a distance equal to the distance between the human eyes. Place a slide of two photographs into a stereoscope - an instrument with two eyepieces. You will see 3D images effortlessly.

Step 2

You can do without special equipment. Open a stereo photo on the monitor screen, or place pictures side by side. Bring a pencil to the border between the photographs and focus on it. Start slowly moving the pencil closer to your eyes. An illusion arises that a third, three-dimensional, appeared between the two images.

Step 3

Bring the pencil close to your face until the third picture is the same width as the real photographs. Then begin to move the pencil back and forth just as slowly, without taking your eyes off it. The picture size will change. When you can clearly see the stereo image, remove the pencil.

Step 4

You can achieve a stereo effect by using color filters when shooting. One shot is taken through a blue or green filter, the other through a red one. View the slide through two-color glasses with red and blue (green) glass to create the illusion of a three-dimensional image.

Step 5

Another method for creating stereo images is using repeating patterns. It takes some practice to notice the stereo effect.

Step 6

Place your index finger between the image and your eyes approximately in the middle. Look at the finger without focusing your gaze until it seems to you that there are two fingers. Slowly remove your hand without taking your gaze from the point where it was directed. After that, you may see that the image has become stereoscopic.

Step 7

Try to look at the image "cross", ie. so that the left eye sees the right element of the repeating pattern, and vice versa. Do not strain the eye muscles, the gaze should be slightly "floating".

Step 8

Place a stereo image in front of you or open an image on the screen. Focus on a point behind the picture without looking at the patterns. After a few workouts, you should be able to see the stereo image.
