The mp3 format is quite popular due to its good ratio of file size and recording quality. Of course, this format has its drawbacks, but, as you know, there are no comrades in taste and color. And in order to record an online broadcast, or a few words through a microphone, this format is perfect. For recording, you can use the programs usually supplied with the drivers for the sound card.

Instructions

Step 1

Adjust the recording parameters. To do this, select Settings from the Tools menu at the top of the player window.

In the Recorded file location field, specify the folder where the recorded mp3 file will be saved. To do this, click on the Browse button and select a folder in the window that opens. Click on the OK button.

Click on the Change recording format button. Select MP3 Stereo format from the drop-down list. Use the slider to specify the bitrate - the amount of information transmitted per unit of time, the recorded file. The program allows you to record mp3 files with a bit rate from 24 to 320kbps. The higher the bitrate, the higher the recording quality and, sadly, the file size. Click OK.

Click the Apply button and the OK button at the bottom of the preferences window.

Step 2

Select the recording source. To do this, in the player window, click on the triangle next to the red Record button. Select Select recording source from the drop-down list. Select the Wave option to record an online broadcast.

Step 3

Turn on the broadcast and click on the Record button. From now on, all the sound that you hear through the computer speakers will be recorded to the file. During recording, information about the length of the recorded file will be displayed in the player window.

Step 4

Stop the recording process by clicking on the Stop button in the player window. In the window that opens, specify the file name and additional information about the track: title, artist and genre. Additional information is optional, but it will help you navigate the collection of files. In the same window, you can change the location on the computer hard disk where the mp3 file will be saved. To do this, click the Browse button and specify the folder for recording the file. Click on the Save button in the program window.
