There are several methods for copying the Windows XP operating system. To do this, you can use special programs or use the functions of the above system.
Necessary
Partition Manager
Instructions
Step 1
First, try using the Paragon Partition Manager utility. Download and install a version of this program that will work with the installed version of the operating system. In this case, it is better to perform the installation process on a non-system partition of the hard drive.
Step 2
Turn off your computer and connect the second hard drive where you want to host a copy of the operating system. Naturally, for this you need to use internal drives, not USB-HDD. Turn on your computer and launch the Partition Manager utility.
Step 3
In the quick launch menu that opens, select the "Advanced user mode" item. If there is no free space on the second hard drive that is not occupied by any partitions, then create it. Right-click on the section you want to delete and select "Delete section". Click the Apply Pending Changes button and wait for the partition deletion process to complete."
Step 4
Find the "Wizards" menu above the toolbar and open it. Go to "Copy Section". In the new window that opens, just click the "Next" button.
Step 5
Now select the hard disk partition on which the Windows XP operating system is installed. Click "Next". In the new menu, select the newly created unallocated area. Click "Next". Specify the size of the future system partition. Naturally, it should be slightly larger than the size of the copied system disk. Click the Next and Finish buttons.
Step 6
Open the "Changes" menu and select "Apply Changes". Confirm the operation by clicking the "Yes" button. Wait while the process of creating a copy of the system partition is completed. Remember that this OS will only work stably with the computer on which it was installed.
