The operating system is loaded from the so-called MBR area containing the Windows record. It may happen that this area becomes damaged and the system malfunctions. Correcting the situation requires restoring the bootloader.

- - a computer with Windows 7;
- - multiboot disk with Windows 7.
Instructions
Step 1
To restore the OS bootloader, launch the system recovery menu. This can be done in several ways: by having a multiboot disk with Windows 7 or by using the boot menu by calling it with the F8 key.
Step 2
When recovering from a disk, wait for the Windows installation window to appear, and then select the "System Restore" menu. The window that appears will show the operating systems on your computer. Click on the one you are going to restore.
Step 3
In the next window, select the "Startup Repair" action. Wait for the application to end, after which a restart will be required, the computer bootloader is working again.
Step 4
If this action does not solve the problem, return to the action selection menu and select Command Prompt. A window will open in which write the Bootrec command, press the Enter key to execute it. Enter the command Bootrec.exe / FixMbr, it will write a new boot record.
Step 5
Next, enter the command that writes the new boot sector Bootrec.exe / FixBoot. After each command entry, you should see the message "Operation completed successfully". Enter the Exit command to exit the command line.
Step 6
There is also a second version of the command that can help restore the boot sector. Enter bootsect / NT60 SYS to update the master boot code. When finished, also enter the Exit command.
Step 7
If this method fails, try the next one. Enter the Bootrec.exe / RebuildBcd command, which will scan your hard drives for Windows operating system entries. On the next line, select the action to add an OS entry to the system. After completing these steps, exit the command line with the Exit command in the same way. Restart your computer.
