Opera has a default list containing a basic set of search engines. It is used by the Internet browser to submit queries entered in the search box next to the address bar. If you are not satisfied with this list, then there is an opportunity to supplement it or completely replace it.
Instructions
Step 1
Select the line "Customize search" in the drop-down list that opens by clicking on the icon placed to the right of the field for entering a search query. This will open the "Search" tab of the browser settings window.
Step 2
Open the dialog box for adding a new search engine to the list by clicking the "Add" button located to the right of the "Manage search services" list.
Step 3
Type in the Name field the name of the new search engine that should appear in the list of search engines. In the "Key" field, specify one letter to replace the system name when entering a search query directly into the address bar.
Step 4
In the "Address" field, specify the URL of the new search engine, and if the request is to be sent using the post method, then check the box "POST request" and enter the list of variables in the "Request" field.
Step 5
If necessary, check the "Use as default search engine" checkbox. If the same search engine should be present on the express panel page, then check the box "Use as Express Panel search".
Step 6
Click OK and Opera will add a new search engine to the general list. Close the settings window by clicking the OK button in it.
Step 7
You can simplify this procedure by going to the page that contains the search box for the system you want to add. Right-click this field and select the "Create search" line in the pop-up context menu. The browser will open the window for adding a search engine described above, in which the fields "Name", "Address", "Request" and "POST-request" will already be filled with the required values. Replace the value in the "Title" field - the browser places the window title text in it, which is mostly intended for search robots and contains very long text. If necessary, correct the values of other fields entered by the browser and click the OK button.
