The notification area, located on the right side of the "Taskbar", is used to display icons of system programs running in the background, installed drivers and system messages. By default, most of the icons in Windows 7 are hidden and the application cannot automatically pin to the notification area. Follow these steps to customize the Windows 7 notification area.

Step 1
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and go to the "Control Panel".
Step 2
Start entering the first values of the "group" command in the search bar and wait for the list of found results to appear.
Step 3
Select Change Group Policy.
Step 4
Repeat the above steps and enter gpedit.msc in the search bar.
Step 5
Use the left mouse click on the search bar to select "Local Group Policy Editor".
Step 6
Select User Configuration from the list in the Group Policy Editor window and navigate to the Administrative Templates section.
Step 7
Open the Start Menu and Taskbar and look for Disable Component Announcement Toast Notifications.

Call the drop-down menu by left-clicking on the found field and select the "Change" option.
Step 9
Select the Enable option to disable the display of notifications.
Step 10
Return to the main Start menu and go to Ease of Access Center.

Select the menu item "Use a computer without a screen" and look for the section "How long should Windows notification dialog boxes remain open".

Select the desired interval from the drop-down list.

Call the service menu of the taskbar by left-clicking on the "Taskbar" field and go to "Properties".

Click the Customize button in the Notification Area section of the Taskbar tab of the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties application window.

Click the Turn System Icons On or Off link in the Notification Area Icons dialog box.

Specify the desired behavior for each icon in the System Icons dialog box.

Return to the "Properties" option in the "Notification area" section of the "Taskbar" tab and click the "Configure" button.

Select the desired display options in the Notification Area Icons dialog box.

Uncheck the box next to "Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar" to always have all icons in the notification area (optional).
