Sometimes, while working at the computer, its sudden shutdowns begin to occur without the knowledge of the user. The reasons for this can be very different, from technical problems to the intrigues of virus programs.
Technical reasons
Check how well the cables of various devices are connected to the system unit, especially the one that provides power to the computer and connects to an electrical outlet. Perhaps one of them periodically moves away from the socket, which causes an abrupt shutdown of the computer. Also, the cables may have various cracks and scuffs, and therefore they must be replaced to resume using the computer.
Make sure that the power supply located at the back of the computer has a working cooling system (does not get hot or makes noise during operation) and has sufficient power to keep the computer running. If its power is low, trips can occur to protect equipment from failures or lack of power.
Clean the inside of the system unit from dust and dirt. Pay special attention to the fans. Dust settling on them impairs the cooling of the components, because of which they begin to overheat, and the computer spontaneously shuts down to prevent their failure. Wipe the microcircuits of various components with a slightly damp cloth, and also check the fastening of the internal cables of the system unit.
Software reasons
Think about what programs you installed before the computer started to shut down spontaneously. Perhaps this or that application or game is too resource-intensive, and the hardware power is not enough for their successful functioning. In this situation, there may be a strong overheating of the processor, video card and other components, which is why the shutdown occurs.
Remember if you changed the operating system or BIOS settings. Incorrect setting of important parameters can lead to various system errors. Try to go through the system restore procedure through the appropriate utility application, choosing the last date of normal computer operation as the restore point, or reset the current settings to those that were by default.
Perform a full scan of your computer for viruses and other malware. It is viruses that cause problems such as a sudden restart, freeze or shutdown of the computer. In the future, be careful when visiting suspicious Internet sites and downloading unknown programs.
