In most cases, a huge number of running services and processes slows down your computer. To disable unnecessary processes on your own, you need to follow a few simple rules.

Step 1
First, open Device Manager and disable unnecessary processes. Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + Del. In Windows7, select the last item "Start Task Manager". Open the Processes tab.

Examine the list of running processes and programs. Highlight the process you want to disable and click the End Process button. Confirm the completion operation.

Most of the services do not appear in Device Manager. Open the start menu and go to the control panel. Open the Administration menu. Select the Services submenu.

Shut down unused services yourself. Their number ranges from thirty to forty, depending on the number of additional functions or devices that you use. The main load is carried by such services as: Windows Update, Windows Defender, Secondary Logon, Windows Backup.

There are several services that are completely useless for a desktop computer: Tablet PC Input Service, Terminal Service, IP Helper. They can also be turned off.

Step 7
Install the selected application and launch it. In the case of the ASC utility, open the System Optimization tab. Check the box next to the first item - Optimization. Click the Scan button.
Step 8
After completing the system analysis process, click the "Repair" button. Do not uninstall the program after use. It will automatically fix registry errors and configure the operating system to improve performance.
