When creating a logo, it is highly desirable to be able to make its background transparent - in this case it will more organically fit into any design, be it a website page, a document in Word format, a flash or video clip, etc. In addition, the translucent logo can be superimposed as a watermark on images and photographs. The most common tool for this kind of graphic work is Adobe Photoshop.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch a graphic editor and download or create the logo itself from scratch - this part of the work depends entirely on your artistic preferences and initial data (name of the company, clan or organization, symbols that need to be placed on the logo, etc.).
Step 2
Place all layers of the psd document in one folder - in this case there will be no need to adjust the transparency of each layer individually, but you can do it for the entire folder as a whole. To do this, click the icon in the lower right part of the layers panel, when you hover the mouse over it, the inscription "Create a new group" will pop up, and then select the layers and drag them into the created folder. If the background layer also exists in the document, then you do not need to move it - leave it outside the folder.
Step 3
Turn off the visibility of the background layer by clicking on the eye icon at the left edge of the line related to this layer. Actually, editing can be finished here if the logo itself should be opaque, and only its background should be transparent - in this case, skip the next step.
Step 4
Select the created folder (click on it with the mouse cursor), if you need to make the logo partially transparent. Then open the drop-down list next to the "Opacity" label and use the slider to select the most appropriate degree of transparency for the logo.
Step 5
Trim off the extra space around the logo to make it easier to reuse later. Expand the "Image" section in the menu of the graphical editor and select the "Trimming" command. In the window that will open as a result, check the box for "transparent pixels" and click the "OK" button. The editor will resize itself according to the width and height of your logo.
Step 6
Save the created logo in native Adobe Photoshop format. You will need this file if you need to make any changes. The save dialog is opened by pressing the ctrl + s keyboard shortcut.
Step 7
Create an optimized logo file that you can place in the documents you want. To do this, press the key combination alt="Image" + shift + ctrl + s and the image optimization window will open. It is designed so that you have the opportunity to choose the most suitable graphic format, and select such image settings for it, which give the optimal ratio of quality and weight of the created file. The second from the top drop-down list contains possible file types - select either gif or.
Step 8
Specify the location on your computer and the name of the logo file, and then click the “Save” button again.
