Desktop wallpaper in Windows operating systems refers to the background image of the home screen in idle mode. As a wallpaper, the user can choose any image suitable for the screen resolution.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the start menu. In the line "Find programs and files" at the bottom, enter the query "background". In the drop-down list, select the line "Change the desktop background". The main screen image settings window will open.
Step 2
To select a custom picture on the desktop, in the window that appears, click the "Browse …" button. The "Browse for Folder" dialog box appears.
Step 3
In the window that opens, select the folder containing the image that you want to set as your desktop background and click "Ok". The Desktop Background Preferences window displays thumbnails of all the images stored in the selected folder.
Step 4
Select your desktop background from the images that appear. If the selected image does not match the standard screen resolution, then change the position of the image on the desktop. To do this, select the desired location of the picture from the list below. It is recommended to place a small picture in the center of the screen. Click the "Save Changes" button.
