Sometimes the highlighting of shortcuts on the desktop may not be necessary at all. You can change this parameter without using any specially designed programs or special skills.
Instructions
Step 1
Right-click on a shortcut-free area of the desktop. Select Properties. A new window will open with options that relate to desktop settings, screen resolution, wallpaper and screen saver selection, and here you will also find a solution to the problem with the highlighting of shortcuts. To do this, go to the "Desktop" tab.
Step 2
Click on the "Customize Desktop" button, in the window that opens you will see all the possible settings that you can do yourself to customize the appearance of the desktop. Open the "Web" tab. There you will see that you have a checkmark in front of the action "Pin elements of the desktop". Uncheck it, apply and save your changes.
Step 3
You can also change the shadow cast by the icons, to do this open "My Computer" and right-click in the free space of icons. Click properties. You will have a new window with several tabs - select the last one, it is called "Advanced". Select the "Options" button, which is related to system performance. Uncheck the box "Drop shadows on desktop icons."
Step 4
Apply and save your changes. You may be prompted to restart the system for the new settings to take effect. This desktop customization item deals with effects that affect system performance. Step 5
If you cannot change the display parameter of the desktop web elements, then simply change the main color in the desktop properties - make it as close as possible to the color scheme of the wallpaper, and the selection of shortcuts will not be so noticeable to you.
