Instructions
Step 1
Quite often, viruses have recently penetrated viruses deeper into the system partition, not forgetting about the startup menu. Your computer can pick up an infection even if you have the latest version of the anti-virus complex. The dangerous object enters the hard drive and dies down, creating a small shortcut at startup. Because It is impossible to control this menu permanently; upon reboot, an infected object is launched disguised as a normal program.
Step 2
Often, after such shenanigans, recently installed programs do not start, although the registry editor is still active. Therefore, for cleaning it is recommended to use the standard utility for editing registry files.
Step 3
Click the Start menu and select Run. In the window that opens, navigate to an empty field and enter the regedit command, then press the "OK" key. The Run window can be launched by pressing the Win + R keys or via the My Computer context menu.
Step 4
In the opened registry editor window, which is visually divided into 2 parts, there are sections with branches and with parameter values. A branch is understood as a kind of partition on a hard disk, in the registry of a series of Windows operating systems there are several branches (partitions). Inside the key there are many catalogs organized alphabetically.
Step 5
On the left side of the window, open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE branch. Follow the path Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Run. In the right part of the window there are parameters of programs that are in startup. For example, the Winamp parameter is responsible for launching this program in the system tray.
Step 6
There is also one more branch, which may contain parameters of launched applications - HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Open it and go to the following path Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Run. To uninstall a particular program, right-click on an option and select “Uninstall”.
