Most of the software we have at the moment is only designed to perform tasks that are associated with modern operating systems. There are practically no utilities that are developed for the DOS shell, so users have to use old versions of DOS applications.
Necessary
DOSprn software
Instructions
Step 1
This program is designed to print information from DOS applications. You've probably seen the process of printing on dot matrix printers in banks, post offices, etc. The same operation can also be performed on inkjet and laser printers. This application can be configured for any network user or stand-alone computer.
Step 2
DOSprn can be easily downloaded from the Internet absolutely free of charge at the following link https://www.dosprn.com/download.htm, but the program is a shareware application, i.e. it can be used for a limited number of days. After this time, DOSprn must be removed or a copy must be registered.
Step 3
After installing the program, a shortcut will appear on the desktop, double-click on it to launch the utility. After loading the main window of the program, you will see the standard MS-DOS icon in the tray, which means that working files are fully ready to perform tasks.
Step 4
One of the main features of the program is that all actions can be performed through the commands of the context menu of the program icon. To call this menu, just right-click on the icon. If you have previously clicked "Minimize" in the main window, you can restore the window by selecting the "Open" menu item. All other commands will be very clear for you (print file, orientation, clear queue).
Step 5
To print one or more files, just select the orientation of the sheet and click "Print file". It is recommended to configure the program before printing the document. For example, change the Interface Language setting to the language that works best for you. Then set the "Queue timeout", it is desirable to set it from 3 to 5 seconds. It is also recommended to customize the display of printable fonts.
