Newer versions of Windows operating systems include a backup or image function. It allows you to quickly bring the system to a working state without resorting to a complete reinstallation.

Instructions
Step 1
To create an image of the Windows Seven operating system, go to the "Control Panel" menu. Now open the System and Security menu and go to the Backup and Restore submenu.
Step 2
Find the item "Create a system image" and click on it. Wait while the operating system prepares the files for archiving. Specify the location where the future OS image should be stored. To increase the degree of data safety, it is recommended to use external USB drives. This will allow you to restore the operating state of the system even in the event of damage to the used hard disk.
Step 3
Click the Next button after selecting the storage device for the image. A window will open with a list of sections that will be included in the archive. These are usually the system and boot partitions of the hard drive. Click the Archive button. This process takes a lot of time. It is best to leave the computer on overnight.
Step 4
Unfortunately, it is not enough just to create an image. After all, it will need to be started in the event of a system failure. Repeat the procedure to enter the "Backup and Restore" menu. Click the Create System Restore Disc button.
Step 5
Insert a blank DVD into a working drive. Click the Create Disc button. Wait until the required files are written. Note that you can use a regular Windows Seven installation disc as the recovery disc.
Step 6
If the operating system stops loading, insert the created disc into the drive. Turn on your computer and press the F8 key. Select this DVD drive from the menu that appears. After a menu appears containing options for operating system recovery, select "Recover system from an image."
Step 7
Now specify where to store your backed up copy of Windows. Wait for the Windows Seven OS image recovery process to complete.
