"Task Manager" is a Windows application with which the user can get information about what programs and processes are currently running on the computer, about how loaded the system is. The Dispatcher also allows you to end and start programs and processes.
Instructions
Step 1
To start working with the data of the "Task Manager", it must be called. This can be done in several ways. First way: enter the keyboard shortcut Ctrl, alt="Image" and Del or Ctrl, Shift and Esc. The second way: right-click anywhere in the "Taskbar" and select "Task Manager" in the context menu with the left mouse button. The third method: through the Start menu, call the Run command, enter taskmgr.exe in the field without unnecessary printable characters and press the OK button or the Enter key.
Step 2
If the process you want to end is a program running on your computer and displayed in the Taskbar, you can choose one of two methods. In the "Task Manager" window that opens, go to the "Applications" tab, select the program you need by highlighting it in the list with the left mouse button, and click on the "End task" button.
Step 3
Another option: go to the "Processes" tab, find the process of the running program, select it with the left mouse button and click on the "End Process" button. In the event that the process does not coincide with any of the programs you have called, work only with the "Processes" tab.
Step 4
To complete processes in the "Task Manager" provides two types of actions. If you need to terminate not just one process, but also other processes associated with it, use the context menu. Select the process you need in the list with the left mouse button, right-click on the selected line and select the “End process tree” command from the drop-down menu.

To shut down the computer through the "Task Manager", select the "Shutdown" item in the top menu bar and click the "Shutdown" command in the context menu with the left mouse button. The Shutdown menu also provides commands for hibernation, standby, reboot, and user change. To close the "Task Manager" window, click on the [x] icon in the upper right corner of the window or enter the keyboard shortcut alt="Image" and F4.
