Unfortunately, many text editors do not provide a feature that allows one to automatically print a file so that the pages can be folded and bound into a book. It is nevertheless possible to do this. Let's consider the algorithm of the necessary actions using the example of one of the most common editors - MS Word.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the file in MS Word 2007 and older. Next, in the program window, go to the "Page Layout" tab. On the toolbar, click the "Orientation" button and select "Landscape". After that set the size of the fields, which you think is the most convenient.
Step 2
In the lower-right corner of the Page Setup section, click on the small square icon with an arrow coming out of it to open the settings window for pages in the current document.
Step 3
In the "Page setup" window go to the "Fields" tab, where in the drop-down list of the "Pages" section (approximately in the center of the open window) select the option "2 pages per sheet". Click on the "OK" button to confirm. If you did everything correctly, then you will find twice as many sheets in the document, but these will not be sheets, but the pages of your future book.
Step 4
Number the pages in your document. To do this, go to the "Insert" tab in the "Columns and Footers" section on the toolbar, click the "Page number" button and select or configure the numbering option that suits you.
Step 5
Now go to the print settings, for which click on the button with the MS Office logo in the upper left corner of the program, in the menu that opens, point to "Print", then on the right select the item with the same name. Let's say that you have 20 pages in your document, this means that you need 5 A4 sheets to print. Thus, in the print settings window in the "Pages" section, select the "Numbers" item and enter in the input field even pages from the end and odd pages from the beginning, while alternating the numbers, that is, you should get the following 20, 1, 18, 3 …
Step 6
Print these pages, and then flip the entire 5-sheet stack over along the sheet length axis. Next, in the settings, enter a numerical sequence of even numbers from the beginning and odd numbers from the end, that is, 2, 19, 4, 17 … Print them out, and the book is ready, all that remains is to seal the pages.
