If you look closely at the Windows 8 menus, you will find that this OS is even easier to use than its predecessor Windows 7. Creating shortcuts will make working on the computer even more convenient and easier.
Many of the features in the latest version of Windows have certainly improved significantly, as has its aesthetic appearance. In addition, some new features have become available.
At the same time, there were some drawbacks. One of them becomes immediately apparent - the new design does not allow you to immediately find the computer shutdown button. This is due to the fact that Microsoft representatives decided to abolish the familiar "Start" button, while removing many of the previous buttons and functions. Therefore, in the eighth version, the user will first have to go to the Charms bar, then go to the "Settings" menu and press the power off button there.
At first glance, this seems like a simple task, and quite doable on tablets (which are rarely turned off by owners). However, on computers and laptops, this setting is extremely inconvenient.
Create a shutdown and restart shortcut
Fortunately, there is an easy way to disable a device on Windows 8, and it doesn't involve pressing alt="Image" + F4. Its essence is to create a computer shutdown shortcut for Windows 8 with a built-in command, which can be located on the start screen, taskbar, desktop and anywhere else.
To create a shutdown shortcut in Windows 8, right-click the selected location and go to New> Shortcut. Type shutdown / s / t 0 and click Next, then provide a name for your shortcut (Shutdown or whatever you choose).
To pin it to the taskbar, right-click on it and drag it out with the cursor. One press will be enough to turn off the computer.
Alternative placement
Alternatively, you can leave the created shortcut on the home screen. In this case, you can use the shutdown button to perform various actions, such as rebooting or putting the device into sleep mode.
However, you should remember that there is no way to interrupt the computer shutdown or restart after clicking on the shortcut. This means that you must avoid accidental clicks. Otherwise, unsaved data may be permanently deleted.
If you want, you can also create a shutdown, restart and hibernation shortcut in the form of a tile on the Windows 8 home screen, however, this is somewhat more difficult to accomplish.
