Step 1
If you accidentally remove system icons from the desktop, such as My Computer, you can always bring them back using the Desktop Items applet. To restore the Recycle Bin, right-click on the desktop and select Properties. In the window that opens, go to the "Desktop" tab and click the "Customize Desktop" button. On the General tab, check the box next to the item whose icon you want to restore.
Step 2
Sometimes it happens that this method does not help, so you have to resort to the registry editor - a program that works with the system registry branches. To start it, click the "Start" menu, select "Run". In the blank field, enter the regedit command and press the Enter key.
Step 3
In the window that opens, go to the following path HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Explorer / HideDesktopIcons / NewStartPanel. To do this, on the left side of the program, select the HKEY_CURRENT_USER branch, click the "+" icon, then find Software among the list of folders, click "+" again, etc. In the above directory you need to find the parameter {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}, double-click on it and in the window that opens, replace the value with "0".
