If a failure occurs on the partitions of your hard drive, the operating system "marks" it as requiring verification. And on the next boot, the system starts an automatic check of the hard disk sectors.
Instructions
Step 1
If such a check is started every time, then the mandatory check parameter is set, or the hard drive has a malfunction that the system cannot fix on its own. Check the hard drive using the operating system. To do this, run the command line from the Start menu, and then type the command chkdsk -r, which will start checking the hard drive and simultaneously fixing the detected bad sectors.
Step 2
The check can also be run from the Disk Management utility. Right-click on the section and select Properties. Open the "Service" tab and start the scan by ticking the "Repair bad sectors" checkbox. In this case, you must have administrator rights on the personal computer. If you have several disks, you will have to check for each separately.
Step 3
If the current check could not fix the existing failure and remove the status from the hard drive "dirty bit" (presence of a "dirty" bit), use special utilities for maintaining hard drives - Victoria, MHDD, HddRegenerator and others. You can find them in LiveCD assemblies. Such discs are sold in almost every store of the corresponding product. You can also find images of the operating system on the Internet and burn it to disk.
Step 4
If there is no failure on the surface of the hard drive, but the autochk.exe checker is still launched every time the system starts, you can correct this parameter manually. Enter chkntfs / x drive: [drive letter] at the command line. It is worth considering that the forced cancellation of the hard drive check can lead to undesirable consequences: you will learn about a serious hard disk malfunction or damage to system files only at the moment when the system refuses to boot.
