Modern HP notebook computers are not available with Windows XP preinstalled today. This means that when installing it on your computer, you may encounter some errors that can be corrected by changing certain parameters and installing the appropriate drivers.
Instructions
Step 1
Burn the operating system image to a removable medium - a laser disk or a USB flash drive. This can be done using utilities such as UltraISO, Nero, or WinToFlash. Download these applications and install them on your computer, then select the downloaded operating system image in the appropriate section of the program. For UltraISO, this function is offered in the "Burn hard disk" or "Burn image to CD" section. In WinToFlash, all the necessary parameters are presented in the main window of the utility.
Step 2
After completing the recording procedure, insert the storage medium into the computer and reboot the system. Press the F10 key to enter BIOS. In the First Boot Device section of the Boot section of the menu, specify your floppy drive or USB flash drive on which the system is recorded. Exit BIOS, save changes and wait for the system setup utility to run.
Step 3
After starting the Windows XP installation program, follow the instructions on the screen. If, when trying to install, the program could not find the hard disk in the system, restart the computer and return to the BIOS again. Go to Configuration - Native-Sata and select Disable. After that, restart your computer and try to install the system again.
Step 4
After installing the system, you need to search for the necessary drivers for the hardware. Go to the HP official website for support and driver downloads. Check to see if there are any Windows XP driver packages available for your computer's configuration. If the driver packages are missing, open the System Device Manager. Look for devices that did not have system drivers installed and download them using an Internet search. Installation and configuration of the system for work is completed.
Step 5
To find the correct drivers, first find the specification for your laptop. To do this, go to the official HP website and find the model of the device you are using and view the list of installed components. After that, you can download each driver you need separately, specifying the search by the name of a particular component of the computer.
