Microsoft Update is an online application for installing system security updates, drivers, patches, and additional utilities to help your computer run smoothly. Updates can also be selected by manually downloading using an Internet browser, or by enabling automatic installation.

Instructions
Step 1
Go to the "Start" menu, then start "Internet Explorer". Alternatively, click on the "Internet Explorer" shortcut on your desktop, if possible. Type "https://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate" in the address bar and then press "Enter" to go.
Step 2
Install an ActiveX control system if prompted. Right-click on the information panel below the address bar. Select "Install ActiveX" from the pop-up menu. Click on the "Install" button in the dialog box that appears. Agree to the security warning.
Step 3
Click on the "Enable" button in the "Change settings for automatic updates" menu. Select "Every day" in the "Install new updates" section. This will allow the computer to automatically check every day what updates are available for your system.
Step 4
Press the button "Check for updates", then "Run Microsoft Update", then select "Express", for example, to install major updates for Windows and Microsoft Office. The system will begin a full scan of your computer, including checking if your Microsoft product keys are genuine.
Step 5
Select Install Updates to begin installing a complete list of available updates. If you see the inscription "there are no updates available for the computer", then this means that your system has already been updated. Restart your computer as soon as this prompt appears.
Step 6
Select "Software Update" in the upper left corner of your computer desktop if you are using an Apple Mac system. The system will check if there are new versions of products and packages from add-ons. If any are found, the window will say "Found new software". Press the "Install" button and restart your computer as soon as this prompt appears.
