The DjVu format is indispensable if you need to save a scanned document without recognition, especially for books of scientific and technical content with an abundance of formulas and figures. Also used for storing magazines, history books, manuscripts. It is the main format for modern digital libraries.
Instructions
Step 1
The most common editor for viewing Djvu files is DjvuReader. However, it has a significant drawback - it does not allow sending a document for printing. Many users are faced with this, believing that it is impossible to print a file in this format, but this is not the case. WinDjView is a great alternative in this case, it has a ton of advanced features such as changing print settings, scaling, borderless printing, and so on. If the file contains a text layer, then text search and preview is possible.
Step 2
The DjVu Solo plugin, by definition, works as an add-on to the internet browser. There are several ways to print a document. To print a scanned book, this can be done through Fineprint, which will allow you to correctly lay out the finished pages, it also has a "booklet" mode, in which it is convenient to print books in A5 format. To send a file for printing, use the Print button located in the DjVu Solo itself, and not in the browser. Also fineprint allows you to view the result in pdf format before printing to avoid errors and damage to the paper.
To print a large image, for example, A3 size, send the document to print through Acrobat Distiller, select the size (A3, A2 or custom). After that, the file will be converted to pdf format. Open the final file through Acrobat Reader, view it and, if everything is fine, send it to print.
Step 3
Convert the file to another format such as jpeg, pdf or doc and print from the appropriate editor. To convert, you can use the following programs: Universal Document Converter, ABBYY_PDF_Transform or DoPDF.
