Discs deteriorate over time, as various scratches and other damage appear. Often there are situations when a bunch of scratches appear on a certain disk, due to which it is impossible to copy data.
Necessary

- - Alcohol program;
- - Digital MediaRescue program.
Instructions
Step 1
Use Digital MediaRescue software. You can find it on the website https://www.newestsoft.com. Download the program and install to the system directory of your hard drive on your computer. Next, run this utility. Insert the disc from which you want to copy information to your computer. A large window will appear in front of you, in which select the "Add" tab in the upper left corner. Specify the path to the drive
Step 2
Click on the "Search files" button. Wait a while until the program performs a complete search for all files on the selected storage medium. Once this operation is completed, you can view all the files that were found by the program. It is useful in cases where users cannot copy information from damaged disks or it has simply been deleted. Select the checkboxes of all the files that you want to transfer to your computer and click the "Start" button.
Step 3
You can also use the standard operating system software. Do not try to copy all the data at once in case of such errors. Copy one file or folder at a time. Once you get to the problematic files, skip them to copy the rest. Next, you will only have a few files that need to be transferred to your computer.
Step 4
You can also use the Alcohol program to copy the entire disc. As a rule, it is not copied just because there is some damage on the disk, so you need to transfer everything to a virtual site. Insert the disc, open this program and click on the "Create images" button. Next, insert the disc. Uncheck the box next to Check for Errors. Click on the "Start" button. Once copying is complete, insert a new disc and click Burn Images, selecting the one you just burned in the list. Wait for the recording and try to copy all the data from it.
