Many users create multiple partitions on their hard drive. Usually one of them is reserved for the installation of the operating system and related programs. But not everyone knows how to quickly increase the volume of the system partition without reinstalling the OS.
Necessary
Partition Manager
Instructions
Step 1
To solve this problem, it is better to use the Partition Manager program. Download it from https://www.paragon.ru/. Use the trial version of the utility if you do not plan to run it on another computer. Install the program and run it after restarting your computer. This is necessary to install the required components and collect information about the hard drive.
Step 2
In the quick access menu, select the item "Redistribute free space between partitions" and click the button next in the menu that opens. Now select a group of local disks that will participate in the space exchange process. Under no circumstances use the partition where the boot sector of the operating system is located (Windows 7 and Vista).
Step 3
Click "Next". Now move the slider to resize the selected local drives. Remember that only free space can be used to transfer sectors. Click "Next".
Step 4
If you have finished preparing the hard disk, then select the "Yes, apply physically" item and click the "Next" button. If you are not sure about the correctness of the specified parameters, then select the item "No, return to the settings".
Step 5
After starting the process of reallocating space, the computer will restart. This is necessary to ensure the security of the operating system files. The process of resizing the C drive can take several hours. Connect your computer to an uninterruptible power supply, if you can. When using a laptop, it is best to use the battery by connecting the device to AC power. This will keep computers safe in the event of a power outage.
