Step 1
Today there are many photo formats, the most popular of which are JPEG, RAW, TIFF, BMP and others. For example, if your photo is in RAW format, then special programs are required to view it. However, photos in this format will be much more similar to how the subject looks in reality, will have realistic colors and high quality. To work with such photos, you can use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom or the like. Install one of the programs and correct the picture if necessary. There are many video tutorials and instructions for working with these programs, you can find them on the Internet or buy books at your nearest bookstore.
Step 2
After making the necessary correction, you can reformat the photo to jpeg. This is the most common image format, such photos take up much less hard disk space and can be opened by almost all image processing and viewing programs. To save the original RAW file in a different format, select the "Save As" command in the program in which you worked, and in the "file type" line select jpeg. That's it, your file format has been changed!
Step 3
If your file is saved in any format other than RAW, then you can reformat it in the same way. Find a program that correctly opens images in the format in which they were saved, and perform similar actions: click "save as", then select the required format, and click OK. Formatting of your photo is complete!

In addition to complex and rather expensive licensed programs, the main function of which is photo processing, there are simpler and more affordable programs designed primarily for converting photos.
