There can be many reasons for uninstalling a modem driver. For example, if you want to install a driver of a newer version, then you need to erase unnecessary information from the computer. There are many ways to uninstall a modem (or other hardware) driver, but in some cases the driver is not completely removed, which can be a problem when installing other software.

Step 1
The simplest method that does not require additional programs is to uninstall using Windows (or another operating system, but the sequence of actions in any of them will be similar). Usually any program (or driver) creates a folder in the "local disk" directory: / Documents and Settings / username / main menu / programs. This is where the uninstall and launch shortcuts are placed, which for easier use can be found in start / all programs / your driver and uninstall it from there. But this is only suitable for modems that install the driver in a separate folder in the "program files" (usually modems that use SIM cards). If this method does not work, then delete as follows: start / control panel / add / remove programs, find the name of the modem driver in the list and click the "uninstall" button, the uninstallation process will begin.
Step 2
The next way. The uninstallation does not always go smoothly through the standard tools of the operating system, in order to avoid this, you need to use special programs to remove the software. For the best driver uninstallation, use programs such as CCleaner or Your Unistaller. The second program is better, as it completely removes the software, clearing the registry of files related to the driver. It's easy to use: run the program, then find the driver in the list, click on it, then on the "uninstall" button (the trash can icon), then click "next" and just follow the program prompts until you completely remove the driver.
Step 3
The latter method is also performed by means of Windows. Right-click on the "my computer" icon, then click on "properties", then "hardware", "device manager", find your modem there in the drop-down list "modems", right-click on it, then "properties" and "driver". And the last thing to do is to click on the "delete" button, the deletion process will begin.
