Now on the Internet you can download many video games, movies and other files in the virtual disk image format, the capacity of which exceeds the standard DVD 5 format (4.7 gigabytes). What to do in a situation when you need to write such an image to disk? Of course, you can try to break it down into several parts. But there is no guarantee that after all these manipulations it will work. There is another way out of the situation: write the image to a double-layer DVD, the capacity of which is 8.5 GB.

Necessary

  • - Computer;
  • - Nero program;
  • - a clean double layer disc.

Instructions

Step 1

To burn the image to disc, you need the Nero software. Find it on the internet and download it. Take into account that you need to look for one of the newer versions of the program, since older versions may have problems with recording information on dual-layer discs. Install the application on your computer.

Step 2

Insert a blank, dual-layer disc into your computer's optical drive. Start the Nero Express program tool. In the program menu, select the "Image, project, copying" section. Next, in the list of possible actions, select "Disk image, or save the project."

Step 3

A browse window will appear. In this window, specify the path to the image file that you want to burn. Select it with the left mouse button. Then, at the bottom of the browse window, click "Open". In this way, the disk image will be added to the program menu.

Step 4

In the next window that appears, you can configure some parameters, for example, select the number of disk copies if you need to burn a file in multiple copies. If you check the box next to the line "Check data after recording", then after the completion of the recording procedure, the data will be checked for errors.

Step 5

After selecting all the required parameters, click "Next". The process of burning the image to disk will begin. Typically, when writing dual layer discs, the burn speed is minimal. After its completion, a notification about successful burning will appear.

Step 6

You can now remove the disc from the tray. If you chose to burn in multiple copies, then after burning the first disc, a notification will appear that you need to insert the second. Accordingly, insert it and close the tray. The recording procedure will continue.
