Computer viruses are one of the most common problems in today's virtual world. They are constantly being improved, their properties, methods of penetration and impact are changing. Of course, they are struggling with them, there are a large number of fairly effective antivirus programs. But if a system file is infected with a virus, the antivirus can do little with it, since it is protected from changes by the running Windows.
Necessary
- - computer
- - Dr. Web LiveCD utility
- - blank CD
- - access to the Internet
- - basic computer skills
Instructions
Step 1
To remove a virus that has entered the system, you need to act outside of it. To do this, start the computer from another storage medium, for example, a CD-ROM, and from there carry out operations to combat the "pest". This can be done using the Dr. Web LiveCD utility.
Step 2
Download Dr. Web LiveCD as a bootable image from the developer's website. This should be done immediately before treatment, so that the image includes the latest anti-virus databases.
Step 3
Burn the image to a blank disc using any burning program (Nero, Alcohol 120%, etc.).
Step 4
Go to the BIOS of the motherboard (press Del, F2 or another key, which one will be indicated on the screen immediately after the reboot). In the boot menu, place the optical drive first in the list, save the changes, and exit the BIOS. Insert the disc with the image recorded on it into the drive and restart the computer.
Step 5
Instead of the operating system, the Dr. Web CureIt! Shell will be loaded, which is a stand-alone healing utility. Run a system scan, and the system files will also be disinfected, since the Windows operating system is not active at this time. Accordingly, the viruses "stuck" in the system will be removed.
