The name of the current system user is the name of the account under which the work is performed. Accounts can have different rights to perform certain functions.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the "Start" menu, look what is written next to the user icon, this will be the name. However, this is only relevant for early versions of Windows up to and including XP. Vista and Seven require hovering over the user icon.
Step 2
To log into Windows as a different user, find the "Change User" action in the "Start" menu. It is usually located next to the restart / shutdown button.
Step 3
Open Account Settings in your computer's control panel if you want to create a new Windows user. Choose to create a new account, name it according to your preferences, configure the necessary attributes, select the user type - guest or administrator. The latter of them has wider possibilities of using the functionality of the operating system.
Step 4
If necessary, set a password for the account, also do not forget about the hint. In the future, to change the current user of the Windows operating system, use the "Start" menu.
Step 5
If you want to customize user logon settings, including fast switching in runtime, open the user account settings in the control panel and select Change user logon settings from the menu on the right. Select the desired settings in the new window, save the changes.
Step 6
Customize the operation of certain installed applications and created network connections for different users of the system by opening the corresponding settings. This is not available for all programs. To change the attributes of a connection, simply double-click on its shortcut, then check or uncheck the option for using the connection by all system users and click OK.
