You don't have to be a master to make a masterpiece out of photography. On the Internet there is a huge number of ready-made frames for Photoshop for almost every taste, including thematic ones: strict and business, colorful for children, for wedding photos, etc. Using one of them and spending just a few minutes, you can create just candy from a photo.

Necessary

Adobe Photoshop 7 or higher

Instructions

Step 1

Open the original image first and then the frame file. To do this, sequentially drag their icons into the Photoshop workspace or open the files traditionally using the menu ("File" -> "Open").

Step 2

The photo will not be automatically framed. Instead, both images will open in independent windows. Therefore, the frame must be transferred to the image manually. To do this, select and copy it to the clipboard. In the "Selection" menu, click "All", then go to the "Edit" menu and click on the "Copy" item.

Close the framed window - you won't need it anymore.

Step 3

In the window with the photo go to the "Edit" menu, find the "Insert" item and click on it. The frame will appear on the canvas over the original photo.

Step 4

As a rule, the photo will be smaller than the frame, since frame templates are made in high resolution and large (with a margin). Therefore, the frame should be made smaller. From the Edit menu, click Free Transform. A black stroke appears around the frame with control handles. By pulling on one of them, the image can be enlarged or reduced. Using the control handles, make the frame completely fit into the frame, press "Enter". To maintain the proportions of the image while transforming, hold down the Shift key.

Step 5

Then crop the photo so that the face fits well into the frame. Select it in the layers panel (F7). Then go to the Free Transform mode as in the previous step and crop the photo as needed. Press Enter.

Step 6

More often than not, the image canvas is larger than necessary. Cut off any excess. To do this, glue the layers (command in the "Layer" menu), select the "Frame" tool (C) and use it to select only the desired area. The part of the image that does not fit into the "frame" will be automatically deleted.

Step 7

Save the finished result. Now it can be emailed to friends, installed on your desktop, or printed on a photo printer.
