Not a single Russian-speaking user of a personal computer can do without changing the keyboard layout to English, since Internet addresses, many commands and nicknames are written in it. Switching the keyboard to the English layout will not be difficult even for an inexperienced user, and there are several ways to do this.
Instructions
Step 1
The easiest way to translate your keyboard into an English font is to use a keyboard shortcut specially designed for this. In the settings of most operating systems, this keyboard shortcut is "Alt + Shift" by default. Press Alt first, and then, without releasing it, press Shift. The keyboard layout will change to English, and this change will be reflected in the language bar, which is located in the lower right corner of the screen, to the left of the clock. The current layout is indicated by two symbols: on it RU - Russian, EN - English.
Step 2
You can also change the keyboard layout without resorting to keyboard shortcuts. In order to translate the keyboard into an English font, move the mouse cursor over the language bar and click on it with the left mouse button. After that, a list of all possible keyboard layouts will appear at the top. Place the cursor on the line with the inscription "EN English" and click on it with the left mouse button. The keyboard will switch to English layout.
Step 3
Among other things, the process of switching to the English layout can be automated. To do this, download the Punto Switcher program. After installation, the program will start working in the background, and whenever you start typing a set of letters atypical for the given language, the program will automatically switch the keyboard layout. This solution significantly improves the convenience of working at a computer.
