In the event that one of the parts of the computer has stopped working or is working poorly, it is better to replace it. To do this, you must be able to properly disconnect and install various equipment.
Necessary
screwdriver
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the cover of the system unit after turning off the computer. Examine the connected equipment. Sound cards are divided into two types: integrated and external. If you decide to remove the first type of sound card, then it is better not to do this, because you can damage the motherboard.
Step 2
Sound cards are usually connected to PCI Express slots. They do not have additional fuses to prevent accidental shutdown of the device. To disconnect an external sound card, simply unplug it from the slot, having previously disconnected all cables from it.
Step 3
Connect a new sound card to the vacant slot. If you have a PCI sound card, make this connection.
Step 4
Close the system unit and turn on the computer. Visit the official website of the manufacturer of the new sound card and download the software to control this device from there. Install the downloaded program.
Step 5
If this is not possible, then use the driver installation manager. Download Driver Pack Solution. Run the downloaded application by opening the DriverPackSolution.exe file.
Step 6
Go to the "Drivers" menu. This menu will display uninstalled or outdated drivers for specific devices. Select those driver packages that you want to install (update) and click the "Install" button.
Step 7
To avoid problems during driver installation, activate the following program items: "Silent installation", "Install unsigned drivers", "Expert mode". Reboot your computer after the driver installation is complete.
Step 8
Open Device Manager and make sure your new sound card is working properly. Check for sound.
