Step 1
The total CPU frequency is obtained by multiplying the multiplier by the CPU bus frequency. Naturally, both of these parameters can be changed to improve processor performance. Try this procedure using Clock Gen. Install and run this application.
Step 2
This utility allows you to change only the bus frequency, but this particular method is the most effective and safe. Change the position of the slider to increase the bus frequency by several tens of Hertz. Click the Test button and view the CPU performance data. If the program did not detect any faults, then click the Save button. Repeat this cycle to get the optimal processor condition.
Step 3
The disadvantage of the Clock Gen utility is that it cannot change the voltage supplied to the central processor. This can negatively affect its operation and even lead to an emergency shutdown of the PC. Go to the BIOS menu by restarting your computer. Press Ctrl and F1 to access additional menus.
Step 4
Go to the Advanced Chipset Configuration menu. Find the item that is responsible for the CPU voltage, usually called CPU Voltage. Increase the voltage by 0.2 Volts. This menu allows you to change other characteristics of the processor.
Step 5
Change the bus frequency and press the F10 key to save the parameters of the CPU. After restarting your computer, open Clock Gen and run a CPU stability test. Increasing the bus clock speed makes it possible to increase the performance of the RAM. If you only change the CPU multiplier, then you are unlikely to be able to significantly improve the quality of RAM, even after lowering the timings. Be sure to check the CPU status periodically to avoid possible problems.
