Often, users need to free up space on the system partition of the hard drive. In such cases, you can use several options for transferring information to other local drives.

Instructions
Step 1
To transfer files that are not related to the operating system, use the standard utilities. Open the explorer menu and find the files you want. Select them one by one with the left mouse button while holding down the Ctrl key.
Step 2
Now click on one of the selected files with the right mouse button and select "Cut". Open a folder on the local drive D and press the Ctrl and V keys. All selected files will be moved to the specified directory.
Step 3
If you need to transfer operating system files, install Partition Manager 10. Open the utility's main menu by running the shortcut on the desktop.
Step 4
Select the item "Mode for advanced users" in the start window of the program. Expand the Wizards tab. Find the field "Copy section" and click on it with the left mouse button.
Step 5
Click the "Next" button and select the local drive C. To do this, use a graphic representation of the hard drive volumes. Click "Next" again and select a location to store the copy of the system drive.
Step 6
Be sure to include the size of the new partition. Make it 1-2 GB more than drive C currently occupies. This will avoid problems associated with a lack of free space. Click the "Finish" button after entering the required parameters.
Step 7
Expand the Changes tab. Click on the "Apply physically" item. Confirm the start of the program by clicking the "Yes" button. Allow the utility to restart your computer to continue working with local drives.
Step 8
Copying the system partition can take about an hour. Never turn off the computer during this operation. After automatically restarting your PC, check for a copy on your hard drive.
Step 9
Change the boot sector parameters if you want to make the new partition the system partition. To do this, use the Windows installation disc.
