Step 1
Launch Photoshop and load your photo into it. To open the boot dialog, use the Ctrl + O key combination. This dialog does not differ in anything other than the presence of a preview picture from those used in other applications.

Create a copy of the layer with the photo - press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + J. Most likely, the photo file is in.

If the purpose of editing is to improve the quality of the photo, use the "Correction" section in the "Image" section of the graphics editor menu. It contains more than two dozen links that open various tools for changing image properties. Many link names quite clearly define what parameters are controlled by the tools opened with their help - for example, "Brightness / Contrast", "Hue / Saturation", etc. The action of others can be determined visually - change the settings while monitoring the image change.
Step 4
To add a variety of graphic effects to your photo, use the menu items from the "Filter" section. The tools are grouped in it into separate sections, united by transformation methods.

To add drawing elements to the photo, use the tools from the panel, which is called the "Toolbar". Clicking on most of the icons on it makes additional settings available. For example, if you click on the Brush Tool icon, in the Options panel you can select its shape, size, transparency and pressure, and using the icon at the bottom of the toolbar, you can open the color picker.
Step 6
Saving the edited photo is possible both in Photoshop (psd) format and in one of the usual graphic formats. A psd file is convenient in that it stores all layers and effects for further editing, and standard jpg, gif, png, etc. files are more suitable for use in other applications, since they have much less weight and greater compatibility with other programs. To call the save dialog, use the "Save", "Save As" and "Save for Web and Devices" items from the "File" section of the editor menu.
