Adding sound to a video or replacing an audio track is done using special video editing utilities. Most modern programs allow you to work with almost any audio file, and their addition and synchronization is carried out directly in the editor window.
Instructions
Step 1
Download an app for working with video files. The easiest program to add an extra audio track is VirtualDubMod. It does not require installation, is easy to use and has a fairly wide functionality. Movavi video editor and CyberLink PowerDirector are among the programs that allow you to edit the audio track and change the synchronization settings for music and video.
Step 2
Install the downloaded application by running the installer file and following the instructions on the screen. If VirtualDubMod was selected for downloading, unzip the downloaded archive into a folder convenient for you.
Step 3
If you are using VirtualDubMod, then go to File - Open to add the video file to be modified. After that, open the Streams - Stream List tab. In the window that appears, select one or more audio tracks using the Add button. The playback order of the added audio can be changed using the Move up and Move down buttons. The Disable item is responsible for removing unnecessary tracks. After adding the desired audio files, go to the Video - Direct Stream Copy menu. Save your changes with File - Save as.
Step 4
The principle of operation of all video editing programs is approximately the same. If you decide to use a utility from CyberLink or Movavi, first load the desired video file using the "File" - "Open" menu.
Step 5
At the bottom of the editor window, you will see a panel where the video and audio tracks are displayed. Use the mouse to drag the audio file to this area of the application. Use the corresponding functions to edit the audio fragment. For example, using the "Trim" option, you can delete a part of the melody.
Step 6
After completing the operations of adding an audio track, save the changes using the item "File" - "Save as …".
