In some cases, you need to select an audio track from a video and save it as a separate mp3 file. A simple change of the extension will not help in this case, since it will not lead to the removal of the video track from the file.

Step 1
There are several ways in which you can convert video to mp3 format. Each of them will require the use of one or another program: an audio or video editor, or a file converter.
Step 2
Open the desired video file in a video editing program. To do this, select in the program menu "File" -> "Open" (in some applications "File" -> "Import"). Place the imported video on the timeline of the editor. Then select the video track and delete it. To do this, right-click on it and select "Delete", or press the delete key. Make sure that the audio track remains in place. Save your changes. To do this, select "File" -> "Save As" (or "File" -> "Export"), in the window that opens, specify the name of the file to be saved, select the mp3 format and click "Save".
Step 3
Another way is to use an audio editing program. Launch the selected application, and then open the required video file in it. The procedure for importing it into the program is similar to the corresponding procedure in the video editor. Since the program only works with sound, only the audio track will open. All that needs to be done now is to save it as a separate file. To do this, in the program menu, select "File" -> "Save As" (or "File" -> "Export"), in the window that appears, specify a name for the saved file, specify the mp3 format and click "Save".
Step 4
The next option is to use a file conversion program. Launch the corresponding application, and then import the video file into it. In the conversion settings, specify the mp3 format, the directory for saving the future file and click the "Convert" button. Wait for the process to finish.
