Unfortunately, sometimes it can be difficult for beginners to even simply add sheets to a book or rename them.
How to rename sheets in a workbook
In addition to standard names, sheets of a workbook in Excel can be assigned different names in any language. It is not difficult to do this, the program provides several ways for this, you can choose any of them.
On the desktop in an open book, you need to move the mouse pointer over the shortcut of the desired sheet and double-click the left button. The label will change its appearance, and the user will be able to enter the desired data into it. You cannot enter too large names - their size should not exceed 32 characters. To complete the action, confirm it by clicking on the Enter button.
Another possibility: in the open book window, right-click on the label of the desired sheet with the right mouse button, select "Rename" in the context menu and change the name. Further actions are similar to those described in the previous paragraph.
The most complex renaming method also has a right to exist. First you need to go to the sheet that you want to rename. On the toolbar in the new sheet window, you need to find the menu item "Home", select the sub-item "Cell", then - "Format". Select "Rename" from the drop-down context menu, enter the name and confirm the entry.
In Microsoft Office 7 and Microsoft Office 10, the Home menu is located in the upper right corner of the Excel desktop and is styled as a Microsoft icon. Sometimes it is this circumstance that misleads users, since in earlier versions of Microsoft Office this tab was decorated differently.
How to move a sheet in Excel
In the same way, you can create, move and copy book sheets in the program. To create an additional sheet, move the mouse cursor over the icon located next to the panel on which the sheets are displayed (the "Create sheet" tooltip will appear) and left-click. To move a sheet, you need to move the mouse pointer over its shortcut and, by moving it horizontally, move it to a new location. To copy, you need to simultaneously press the Ctrl key.
