When processing an image, for various reasons, it is sometimes necessary to remove the background: perhaps it was not very successful when photographing, or you decided to choose a more suitable setting for the model. In the arsenal of Adobe Photoshop, there are many different tools for removing the background image.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the image.
Step 2
Select the Magic Eraser Tool from the toolbar. On the property bar, set Tolerance - the difference between the color and the reference, and Opacity - the degree of influence on the image. With one click of the mouse, you remove the unnecessary background.
Step 3
The second tool from the Eraser Tool group is the Background Eraser Tool "Background Eraser"). To work successfully with this tool, you will have to adjust the tolerance and size of the brush when removing the background around a complex object. Place the cursor (it looks like a circle with a cross, in the manner of a telescopic sight) over the border between the background and the object so that the cross is over the part of the image to be deleted. Press the mouse button and, without releasing it, drag around the object. When you get to the area where the color changes dramatically, take a new color sample and trace the subject further.
Step 4
If the background is more or less uniform, it is very convenient to use the Magic Wand Tool. On the property bar, in the selection control group, click the Add to Selection button. Click with the mouse on different parts of the background until it is all selected. To smooth out the jagged edges of the selection, from the Select menu, choose the Feahter command with a radius of 1 pixel. Press Delete on the keyboard - the background is removed.
Step 5
To get rid of some blurring of the outlines, in the menu Filter ("Filter") choose the commands Sharpen ("Sharpness") and Smart Sharpen ("Smart sharpness").
Step 6
If the object that you want to leave in the image is not too complex in shape, you can use the Magnetic Lasso Tool ("Magnetic Lasso"). Move the cursor over the border of the object and click the left mouse button to set the color swatch. Then move the cursor along the contour. If a patchy area is encountered, click more often to help the tool select the desired color. After removing the background, you can insert another background image by pressing Ctrl + V.
