Today, the most common, although not the most convenient removable media used for storing and transferring data, is an optical disc. If a CD / DVD reader and writer is installed in your computer, then the very procedure of copying the necessary files to it is unlikely to become a problem - software manufacturers strive to simplify this procedure as much as possible, and in this they have already achieved very tangible results.

Step 1
If your computer is running Windows 7, you have the option to use its own optical media burner. In this case, all the necessary operations can be performed in the standard file manager of this OS - Explorer. Double-click the "Computer" icon on the desktop or select an item with this name in the main menu and the system will launch this application.
Step 2
Insert a write-ready optical disc into your CD / DVD drive. Pay attention to the labeling of the "blank" - if it does not contain the letter W, then the disk can be full only once, erasing and overwriting files is impossible.
Step 3
Sequentially expanding the folders in the Explorer interface, find the files or directories that you want to write to external media, and select them all. To select several objects at the same time, flip them all with the left mouse button, while holding down the Ctrl key (left or right - which is more convenient). If these objects in the list of files go one after another, use the Shift key - click only the first and last file of the group, while holding down this key.
Step 4
Drag the selected set of objects onto the icon of the optical drive in which the disc is installed. If this mouse manipulation is not very convenient, use the shortcut keys Ctrl + C to place the list on the clipboard, then click the same CD / DVD device icon and press the key combination Ctrl + V to paste the copied objects. The OS will check the writeability of this optical disc and may ask you to confirm the formatting operation - click OK. After that, the recording process will begin, which, depending on the amount of information being copied and the speed at which the disc and the recorder are designed, can take from several minutes to several hours. You will see the percentage of completion of the operation in the information window - it will remain on the screen all this time.
Step 5
If an OS is installed on the computer that does not have built-in disk recording functions, install a specialized application for this purpose. This may also be necessary if you want to be able to independently configure all the process parameters.
