To install the operating system or run specialized programs designed to work in the MS-DOS environment, you must boot the device from the DVD media. For this, various techniques are used.

Step 1
Typically, setting the boot parameters of a computer is carried out through the BIOS menu. If you are using a desktop computer, then press the Delete key after it starts booting. When the BIOS menu opens, select Boot Options and find the Boot Device Priority submenu. Open the First Boot Device column and place your DVD drive in the first place. This item may be called Internal DVD-Rom.
Step 2
Return to the main BIOS menu and highlight the Save & Exit item. Press Enter to save your changes and restart your computer. Sometimes just hitting the F10 key is enough. After the computer restarts, the message Press any key to boot from CD (DVD) appears. Click on any key to start the installed disk.
Step 3
Some versions of motherboards allow you to quickly call up the device selection menu. Press the F8 key after turning on the computer. In the opened window, highlight the Internal DVD-Rom item and press the Enter key. This will allow you to start the computer once from the disk.
Step 4
When using a laptop, there may be several options for opening the BIOS menu. Usually you need to press the Esc key and follow the step-by-step menu. Sometimes the motherboard settings are accessed by pressing the F2 key. Select the key indicated in the text of the message that appears when the mobile computer boots up.
Step 5
If you are using a netbook that does not have its own DVD drive, first connect the disc reader to the USB port. In the boot device selection menu, select USB DVD-ROM or External DVD-ROM.
