To upload disk images to various kinds of sites, you often need to split the image file into several parts. Of course, you can simply extract all the files from the image and download each file separately, but this is very tedious and inconvenient for both the person downloading and downloading the disk. As you can see, such a simple, at first glance, way of splitting the image turns out to be very unsuccessful.

Instructions

Step 1

In this case, the Total Commander program comes to the rescue, also known earlier as Windows Commander. It is a shareware file manager that can replace the standard "Explorer" and expand its functions. You can download Total Commander from the link: https://wincmd.ru/plugring/totalcmd.html, or by finding the installation file of the program in any search engine

It should be said that WinRAR can also split images and other files into parts, but after the trial period you cannot use it - you need to purchase a license. Therefore, we will consider splitting the image into parts using the example of Total Commander.

Step 2

After downloading and installing the program, run its shortcut. A working field will open in front of you, consisting of two windows. Choose any of them, for example, the left one. It displays the structure of the computer's hard drive.

Find the folder where the image is stored, and then the disk image file itself, and click on it with the left mouse button once. After that, in the top menu of Total Commander, select "Files" - "Split file".

Step 3

In the window that appears, specify the path where you want to place the finished, split into parts, image. These parts are called "desks" and are named Part1, Part2, Part3, etc. In the same window, select the desired size for each part or enter your own, then click “OK” and wait until the operation of splitting the image into parts is completed.
