Adding a logo to photos is a simple but useful step that you have to perform before uploading images to the Internet in the case when you need to indicate the copyright owner. You can apply a logo in any graphics editor that can work with layers.

Necessary

  • - Photoshop program;
  • - Photo;
  • - a file with a logo.

Instructions

Step 1

Open files with a photo and a logo in Photoshop in any way you are familiar with: using the Open command from the File menu, using the Ctrl + O hotkeys, or by dragging the necessary files into the program window with the mouse.

Step 2

Drag the logo image onto the photo using the Move Tool. You will get the same result if you select the logo using the Ctrl + A keys or the All command from the Select menu, copy it with the Copy command from the Edit menu and paste over the photo with the Paste command from the same menu.

Step 3

You can add a logo without opening the logo file in a separate window. To do this, use the Place command of the File menu. Double-click on the icon of the file with the logo in the window that opens.

Step 4

Adjust the size of the logo. If you inserted it with the Place command, there is a free transform frame around the image, by dragging the edges or corners of which you can resize and skew the image. After transforming the logo, press the Enter key.

Step 5

If you dragged or copied the logo from an open file, resize it using the Scale command from the Edit menu. In this case, the transformation is applied by pressing the same Enter key.

Step 6

Most often, logos applied to images for uploading to the Internet are stored as files with a transparent background. If for some reason your logo is on a white or any other monochrome background, remove this background. To do this, click on the background of the logo with the Magic Wand Tool, setting the Tolerance value to 1. Remove the selected background with the Delete key.

Step 7

Make the logo semi-transparent if necessary. To do this, enter a new value for the Opacity parameter in the layers palette. You can lower this value using the slider that opens by clicking on the arrow to the right of the field with the parameter value.

Step 8

Flatten the layers using the Flatten Image command from the Layer menu. If the photo is intended for uploading to the Internet, save the file with the Save for Web command from the File menu.
