Instructions

Step 1

The area of headers and footers can be modified. For example, headers and footers can include page numbers, time, date, document title, file name, company logo, and author's last name. It is also possible to create different headers and footers for odd and even pages for the desired sections of the document.

Step 2

Many users had to retrain for a long time from the Word 2003 version to Word 2007, and some are still using the old 2003 version. Therefore, for the convenience of all users, we will consider both options.

Step 3

To edit or delete a header or footer in Word 2007, you need to: open a document with a header, to do this, double-click on it with the left mouse button or select it and press "Enter".

Step 4

There are two ways to change or remove a header or footer. The first is by going to the appropriate tab through the top Menu.

On the top Menu bar, find the "Insert" tab. To the right of the middle, you will see a group of buttons "Header", "Footer", "Page number".

Step 5

Click on the "Footer" button. A panel will open with examples of different headers and footers, under which you will see two items - "Change footer", "Remove footer". Select the desired item from this menu.

Step 6

The second way is to go through the footer itself. Right-click on it. Moreover, it is possible that the header may not be visible, i.e. there is no visible text in it, but it is present on the page - this can be noticeable by some distortion of the text throughout the page.

Step 7

So, right-click on the intended header and footer - the header and footer itself will become bright, and the text of the rest of the document will be faded, and the "Design" menu will open. On the left, you will see a group of Footer buttons. Click on the desired button and select "Remove Footer" from the drop-down menu. After that press the button "Close the window of headers and footers".

Step 8

To remove / change headers and footers in Word 2003, go to Menu - "View". Select the Header and Footer command.

Step 9

If necessary, use the Go To Previous or Go To Next buttons on the Header and Footer toolbar to find the header or footer that you want to delete.

Step 10

Select the content of the header by pressing the shortcut keys "Ctrl - A" and then press the "Delete" key.
